PAO awards 12 schools for GPAK program

TWELVE schools that have successfully implemented the province's Galing Pook awardee, Gulayan at Palaisdaan Alay sa Kabataan (GPAK), were awarded by the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAO) Tuesday morning.

The schools were chosen after an evaluation of participating schools in the three congressional districts of Negros Oriental.

Prizes in the form of projects were given to the three top schools in each district under two categories, namely Gulayan and Palaisdaan.

The winners in the Gulayan category were: First District: Tinaogan Elementary School (Bindoy), First Prize; Pinocauan Elementary School, (Vallehermoso), Second Prize; and Bindoy Central School (Bindoy), Third Prize.

In the Second District, the winners were: Azagra Elementary School (Tanjay City), First Prize; Don Loreto Ledesma Memorial School (Tanjay City), Second Prize; and Bagtic Elementary School (Mabinay), Third Prize.

The Third District winners were: Amres Elementary School (Sta. Catalina), First Prize; Minaba Elementary School (Bayawan City) Second Prize; and Caniogan Valley Elementary School (Sta. Catalina) Third Prize.

In the Palaisdaan category, the winning schools were Maayongtubig Elementary School in Dauin, First Prize; Baslay Elementary School in Dauin, Second Prize; and Liptong Elementary School in Valencia, Third Prize.

The winners received prizes in the form of projects. First Prize winners under the Gulayan category received projects worth P100,000, second prize, P75,000, and third prize, P50,000. The prizes undr the Palaisdaan category were P50,000, P30,000, and P20,000 for first, second, and third prizes, respectively.

GPAK is now on its fourth year of implementation in all public schools in Negros Oriental.
